Disneyland’s Avengers Campus takes place in a world where Thanos’ snap never happened, diverging from canon. Set for Disney’s California Adventure, the Marvel-themed destination will include Avengers Headquarters.

“We don’t want anyone to feel that there’s an apocalyptic threat to the end of humanity,” Fields said. He added that while there is a desire for Avengers Campus Park to feature some conflict, the form of that conflict should remain accessible to visitors of the attraction. Avengers Campus story lead Jillian Pagan elaborated further, noting that Avengers Campus Park does share history with the films but with a little more fluidity. “We live in a version of the multiverse where there are some characters who did not sacrifice themselves for us,” she noted.
The decision makes sense from a business standpoint. An attraction should appeal to large swaths of people. Sticking too closely to established canon would limit certain possibilities that would otherwise be available.
Okay, okay. I get it. Those of us that are comic fans know that the multiverse provides opportunities for alternate and differing realities. But, I've always labored under the idea that, while the highly successful "superhero" franchise films of late are based on their comic book source materials, that the producers and film companies didn't want to just please the hardcore fans. Rather, they want to make money.
As such, film makers want the end product to appeal to everyone. Perhaps that is the logic behind the move here (to have the Avengers Campus exist in a 'non-snap' world).
Given the events that took place in Endgame, this plan will also allow for some characters that should be dead to be part of the story (I'm thinking of Black Widow, as an example).
However, I guess it's all moot since the opening of this new theme park at Disney's California has been delayed due to the impacts of the coronavirus pandemic:
Disney’s Marvel-themed Avengers Campus was originally supposed to open at Disney California Adventure on July 18th, 2020. Well, it’s not surprising to learn that the opening of the attraction has been delayed. Now the Disneyland website says that it’s “Coming Soon”.
Well, no matter how you slice it - or when it will open, I'm sure that it will be awesome. I'm still feeling really impressed by how Galaxy's Edge turned out....
As I havedetailedbefore, our family members are all big fans of Walt Diney World. As such, we (mostly the Wife and I) look for ways in our everyday lives to get little escapes to the Disney parks in between our family trips.
Whether it's a calming moment that we need, or some music to feed our souls, the Walt Disney World blog is trying to provide some cool stuff while we are all stuck at home.

Given all of the shut-downs due to Novel Coronavirus, it's certainly no surprise that all of the Disney-related theme parks (as well as non-Disney attractions as well) have completely closed. I was reading the other day about the financial impact that it has on the Disney company specifically (estimates are between $20 million and $30 million lost every day that the parks are closed). /Film has an interesting post up about the impact:
Understandably, among the things taking a pause are construction projects. Walt Disney World, ever-expanding in its 43 square miles of space, has plenty of projects in the pipeline, but they’re taking a break for now. What kind of projects are affected? Well, everything from the TRON Lightcycle attraction to the Star Wars Galactic Starcruiser hotel was in some form of construction. Those projects’ original arrival dates are now pushed back to who knows when.

Of course, who knows when the parks will be open again. California is essentially shut down for the next four weeks, and Governor Gavin Newsom has said he can imagine that shut down being doubled. In fraught times such as these, it’s especially frustrating that we can’t have escapism such as the theme parks to forget our troubles. For now, do what I’m doing: watch YouTube videos of theme-park rides, shows, and more. Listen to Disney theme-park background music. And most importantly: whoever you are, wherever you are, stay safe and healthy.

On our last trip the Wife and I spent a great deal of time at Galaxy's Edge in Disney's Hollywood Studios (more about that trip here). While we greatly enjoyed the experience (and were fortunate to fit it in just before the whole planet shut down), I'm not sure that I'm ready to splurge for the Galactic Starcruiser hotel. I am disappointed that the TRON Lightcycle will be pushed back. I also imagine that the Guardians of the Galaxy feature at Epcot will also be delayed.
But back to that emphasized text in the quote. Being the Disney parks dork that I am (and that my wife is as well, for the record), I have already bookmarked several YouTube playlists to give me a Disney fix when I need it.

Grand Avenue has - in my humble opinion - the best soundtrack in ALL of the parks. This is what I refer to as the "backlot" area at Disney's Hollywood Studios (from ABC Commissary toward Muppetvision 3D, just before you enter Galaxy's Edge). It has a funky/jazzy inspiration and includes The Meters, Lettuce, and the New Mastersounds, to name a few. You can check that out here, and also peep the Magical Soundtracks channel for other great soundtrack loops.
So, for those of us that need a quick fix of that good Disney stuff, there are a couple of resources for you regardless of how long the parks are closed.
So, I didn't watch the Big Game on Superbowl Sunday. I'm not a huge sportsball viewer, unless the sportsball is soccer.
Over the years I have become one of those folks who would go to a Superbowl party and hang out with friends, but I was the guy who was tuning-in to the television only when the new/fun/cool/interesting advertisements were on. Remember Bud Bowl? Yeah, I watched them.
But anymore I can watch the best of the ads online. Aside from movie and TV-spots like the one above, my other fave this year was the Hyundai "Smaht Pahk" ad. Simply brilliant.
"Falcon & Winter Soldier" and "Loki" look fantastic. Pretty much what I am expecting; lots of Marvel-ized action and witty interplay between characters.
But "Wandavision"? That is something entirely different (well, at least according to the very short moments from the ad).
That's not to say that it doesn't look interesting. I'm all-in on Disney Plus, so I'm ready to watch anything and everything that they put out there.
If you don't follow me on the Twitter Machine, then you might not have known that about a week ago I spent the last few days in sunny Orlando at the Happiest Place On Earth with the person who makes me the most happy.
Or, at least, spending many hours at the new Galaxy's Edge land in Disney's Hollywood Studios was certainly my Happiest Place On Earth!
The rest of this post will contain spoilers/images/videos of Galaxy's Edge - so if you haven't been there yet and want a "fresh" experience not knowing what to expect, get out now.
Good? Good. My highlights...
Firstly, the weather in central Florida in January is EXCELLENT for theme-parking. The high temperatures were in the low-to-mid-70s each day, and the lows got down to the mid-40s in the evenings. A bit chilly, but nothing that a sweatshirt and beanie hat couldn't take care of for us.
Lots of great opportunities to celebrate our 18 years of marriage (so far).
...and that's the most important part, right? This beautiful person chose me out of all of the other nerds and fanboys that are out there. And I'm mighty glad that she did.
Okay, the good stuff. Galaxy's Edge is awesome, on so many levels (both figuratively and literally). I'm not even sure where to start...
The land -----
Whether we were in the "docking bay" area (where the Millenium Falcon is located), or elsewhere within Galaxy's Edge, the painstaking detail was obvious. From the spires, to the cast members (Disney employees), everything felt like you were in a remote outpost in the Outer Rim.

Cool starships aside, the other details are fantastic. The staff that work in the park are not dressed in a uniform way (see what I did there?). Rather, they are all dressed as if they live and work there, and are wearing things are normal for day-to-day life in a remote smuggler's stopover. Seriously, it was like being a Star Wars cosplay convention. The only way to differentiate between employees and costumed theme-park-goers was that the Disney cast members wear nametags.
Other little details were all of the place. Unfortunately, I didn't get any really good pictures of signage throughout Galaxy's Edge, but this shot of my light saber card (more on that later) gives you an idea:
While at the bottom it says, "green" in our alphabet, the top and center of the card have Aruebesh characters. According to Wookiepedia, "Aruebesh was a writing system used to transcribe Galactic Basic, one of the most used languages in the galaxy."
So, if you use the the translator at that link, you'll see that my card says "group" at the top, and "B" in the center. Restrooms (called "refereshers" in Batuu) are marked with Aruebesh instead of our alphabet. Other shops and restaurants are the same.
Very cool.
Food and drink ------
Some of the coolest experiences in Galaxy's Edge were not the rides, but rather the opportunities to eat or drink things that are a part of the Star Wars universe. Case in point: "blue milk".
Cool, right?
And there was so much more to see and do with regard to stuffing things in your face. A sweet/spicy popcorn stand and Ronto Roasters (a quick-service dining option where a droid is cooking the meat) are available for snacks and protein. BUT, if you're looking for something that is truly excellent - and I would argue THE highlight of our trip - look no further than Oga's Cantina.
Oga's replicates the vibe that was made famous in A New Hope at the Mos Eisely Cantina scene. From the music to the decor, you really feel like you're in a pub in the Outer Rim territories.
And I think that my favorite part is when the bar breaks into a song/chant that goes along with the music that DJ Rex is playing... "Kra Mer 5 - Una Duey Dee".
(The song usually goes on for another minute or so, but I accidentally cut it off - sorry!)
A couple of things to keep in mind:
You need a reservation. We got two, one for each day that we had planned on being at Galaxy's Edge. However, we made some last-minute changes to our plan and spent an additional evening in Hollywood Studios, and we were able to procure a third reservation at Oga's. While waiting in the queue outside, we witnessed a very rude couple verbally accosting one of the cast members in charge of reservations outside of the cantina.
It's expensive. Drinks with alcohol range from 16 credits (aka, dollars) to 85 credits (for the beer flight served in a commemorative set of Rancor teeth). But you're not just paying for your drinks - it's the experience that I found the most valuable.
You only have 45 minutes inside. Soak in the vibe and get some pics with DJ Rex. They will kick you out so that others can come in - hence the requirement for a reservation.
You get the idea; a total party atmosphere. But, while folks are swinging their drinks to-and-fro, Oga's is not just a bar that serves alcohol. There is a whole section of the menu where you can get non-alcoholic drinks as well. On our third visit we were sat at a table with a family of five (two adults, and three children aged 2-9). Everyone had a great time.
The rides -----
If Star Tours and Mission Space had a baby, it would be Millennium Falcon: Smuggler's Run. A great ride that requires you to press buttons and activate stuff mid-flight. You can be a pilot, a gunner, or an engineer. But the best part is that you really feel like you're riding in The Falcon. Heck the queue leading up to the ride has a Dejarik Chess table for your pose with:

I don't want to go into much detail so that you can experience things for yourself. What I will say is that if you want to see Rise of The Resistance, there are no fast passes and no "regular" queue that you get into. Rather, you have to get a "boarding group".
To get in what Disney calls a "virtual queue" (aka, your boarding group), you have to be in Disney's Hollywood Studios park, through security, as the park opens. When we were there, park opening was 7:00 a.m. You can get in line to enter the park prior to the actual park opening, so we were through security and on Hollywood Boulevard prior to 7:00. At 7:00 on the dot, you can reserve your boarding group through the Disney Parks mobile app. When I tried it for the first time, I got us into boarding group 93 and I was doing it as soon as I was able. You need to move quickly.
For context, they boarded groups up until about number 120 that day. So I felt like we barely made it into the ride. And they didn't call our boarding group to actually experience the ride until late in the afternoon that day. Even when we arrived for our boarding group, we still waited in a queue for a good 35 minutes prior to getting to the experience.
BUT, what an experience it is!
In most theme park rides you wait through a queue, get on the ride, and have anywhere from 30 seconds to five minutes of fun. With Rise of The Resistance, the experience is MUCH longer and more involved. It's not just a ride. It is absolutely worth the trouble of getting a boarding group and waiting in line.
Some highlights...
Is your interest piqued yet? I know! All in all it was a great trip, especially for a fanboy like me. However, you don't have to be a life-long Star Wars nerd to enjoy all that there is to be had at Galaxy's Edge. I highly recommend at least one full day in Disney's Hollywood Studios so that you can experience everything!
So, a little while ago I posted the trailer and a short snippet about the upcoming premier or The Mandalorian on Disney Plus. Needless to say, I have been excited ever since I heard that all of the Star Wars, Marvel, and Disney universes/franchises would be in one place. Additionally, the prospect of original programming in the Star Wars universe has been bandied about for some time.
Then, seemingly forever ago, news broke that the first original Star Wars series on the fledgling streaming service would be The Mandalorian - and I flipped out! As a long-time fan of Boba Fett (as many Star Wars fanboys are), the opportunity to see the backstory and culture of the Mandalorians come to the screen was VERY exciting!
...and so far the show has NOT disappointed.
In fact, my expectations were extremely high and I felt that Dave Filoni (director) and Jon Favreau (writer/creator) exceeded them.
If you haven't watched yet, or don't want things to be spoiled, get out now.
The show opens on a bar that feels like the (in)famous Mos Eisley Cantina scene - sans the bouncy John Williams score. The camera pans around a hive of scum and villainy and centers on a blue alien being roughed up by a couple of bad dudes. Then, in walks our (anti)hero:
The Mandalorian proceeds to dispatch the baddies with little effort (read: badass), then take our blue fellow (ably played by SNL alum Horatio Sanz) into custody, after displaying his bounty token.
The story line continues to develop as Pascal's Mandalorian embarks on a quest to retrieve a bounty that is "over 50 years old" for a paltry down payment of a bar of Beskar steel.
For those uninformed, Polygon has a fantastic write-up about Beskar steel, Mandalorian armor, and the yet-to-be-revealed signet for the title character here. The money:
Mandalorian armor is famous in the Star Wars universe. The armor plates themselves can withstand blaster shots, as we see in The Mandalorian, and can even protect the wearer from the glancing blow of a lightsaber — which can be seen in the Legacy of Mandalore episode of Star Wars: Rebels when Gar Saxon is disarmed. Despite this impressive protection, the armor also remains surprisingly light, allowing the wearer to remain agile and maneuverable. In some cases, the strength of the metal could lead to sets of Mandalorian armor that lasted hundreds of years. In Star Wars: Rebels, Sabine Wren’s armor is 500 years old.
The unique properties of the armor are due in large part to the Beskar metal that it’s made with. Beskar, also known as Mandalorian iron, is one of the toughest and rarest metals in the galaxy. In The Mandalorian’s first episode, we get a brief glimpse of Beskar in the form of the metal bar that the Mandalorian hands the Armorer. The Armorer takes the bar and turns it into a new pauldron for the Mandalorian. With Beskar more rare, and many Mandalorians spread out across the galaxy, it seems that not even the Mandalorian’s armor is quite complete.
Beskar is extremely rare. While we don’t have the details in the official canon anymore, the pre-Disney “Legends” stories explained that it could only be mined on Mandalore, the home planet of the Mandalorians, or its moon, Concordia. According to the Armorer, the metal was likely taken during the Great Purge — also known as Order 66, Chancellor Palpatine’s directive to the clone army to kill all Jedi.
The mystery! The intrigue!
I told you that it was awesome!
And much like the doorway image above, much of the cinematography reminds me of old western films. The Mandalorian really feels like a gunslinger movie. Is he good? Is he bad? Is he ugly? By the end of the first episode, we're still not sure (though there are definite leanings toward good-ish).
Episodes two and three are equally fantabulous. I'm not going to go into any details on them, just know that the final five minutes of the third episode (titled, "The Sin") had me cheering on my couch.
Here's to a great start for Disney+, and the continued awesomeness that is The Mandalorian.
If you want to understand everything in future Marvel movies, he says, you’ll probably need a Disney+ subscription, because events from the new shows will factor into forthcoming films such as Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The Scarlet Witch will be a key character in that movie, and Feige points out that the Loki series will tie in, too. “I’m not sure we’ve actually acknowledged that before,” he says. “But it does.”
I've mentioned it before, but I'm super excited for next Tuesday, when Disney+ debuts.
Disney+ will premier on Tuesday, at 9:00 a.m. EST, per /Film, by way of Marvel.
It's official: the Wife and I are now founding subscribers of Disney Plus (or is it Disney+? What's the branding here gang?).
If you've been living under a rock - or not reading my stuff - I've previously talked about the new streaming service HERE and HERE. Oh, and HERE, and HERE. I might be a fan. Maybe.
Anyway, after long deliberations, I conned my partner-in-crime to lock-in to a three-year subscription (because we were offered a reduced rate, or something).

What's the Disney streaming service? The Disney Plus streaming service will be a competitor to video streaming services such as Netflix, HBO Now and Apple TV Plus. It's a paid subscription without any advertising, and it gives customers access to a vast library of Disney's and Fox's legacy content as well as new, exclusive TV shows, movies, documentaries and shorts.
Awesome, right?
But, while I'm certainly excited about the collection of all of the nerd-heavy movie series (like Star Wars and the entirety of the Marvel Cinematic Universe), what I'm most interested in are some of the new television series that connect to those movie universes. I'm talking about Loki, Hawkeye, Falcon & The Winter Soldier, and the poorly-named WandaVision (all from the Marvel side of the house). And we should DEFINITELY throw in some Mandalorian for good measure.
Now, add to that the news that Disney Plus will be running classic animated shows (like X-Men and Spider-Man) - and I can't wait for November to get here!

I love that he gets choked-up when seeing the Millennium Falcon for the first time.
Of the myriad of cool things that one can do while in the park, perhaps the crown jewel is the opportunity to build your own lightsaber. Over at SlashFilm, Peter Sciretta describes building his "elegant weapon for a more civilized age" as a religious experience:
I am so thankful I did the build a lightsaber experience. It might be my most favorite part of Star Wars: Galaxy’s Edge honestly. It can best be described as an almost religious experience for Star Wars fans. From the moment you show up at Savi’s and the gathers show you the different pieces available for your construction.

Savi’s would be amazing for a kid but is even more powerful as an adult fan. You feel strangely at one with the force and the small group of heroes (and villains) who participated in the experience with you.

But you can’t even partake in the experience unless you first purchase “the scraps” available inside Savi’s, and that isn’t the price of a cheap toy but $200 plus tax (no annual pass or castmember discounts allowed).
I probably wouldn't want to splurge to build one, as it would just sit on my shelf for eternity. But, it does look like they pulled out all of the stops to create an experience for guests.
Galaxy's Edge opened at Disneyland on May 31st, and the same Star Wars-themed area will open at Walt Disney World Resort's Epcot on August 29th. My family is already planning our next trip to Walt Disney World for fall 2021. Hopefully by then the lines for attractions will have gotten shorter!
The decision to rehire Gunn –he was fired last July by Disney after alt-right journalists made public a fusillade of decade old social media missives that made light of pedophilia and rape — was one that was mulled and actually made months ago, following conversations with Disney studio leadership and the team at Marvel Studios. Why the change of heart? After the firing, Walt Disney Studios chairman Alan Horn met with Gunn on multiple occasions to discuss the situation. Persuaded by Gunn’s public apology and his handling of the situation after, Horn decided to reverse course and reinstate Gunn.

Ultimately, Gunn’s missives were poorly chosen words and not actions, though Disney’s quick trigger was completely understandable when the social media messages were first reported by outlets like Fox News. Those outlets reported that Gunn’s missives were exposed as payback for Gunn being a vocal critic of President Donald Trump.
Gunn’s return to Guardians of the Galaxy 3 got complicated when he signed on to write and direct the Suicide Squad sequel for Warner Bros and DC. Marvel Studios has agreed to commence production on Guardians of the Galaxy 3 after Gunn completes Suicide Squad 2. Making the whole thing easier though was the fact that Marvel Studios never met with or considered any other director for Guardians of the Galaxy 3, despite speculation that Thor: Ragnarok helmer Taika Waititi and Vice helmer Adam McKay were in the mix.

Prior to his dismissal, Gunn had written a script which Marvel confirmed would be used for the third Guardians of the Galaxy installment. I expect Gunn to confirm all this as he supports the release of Brightburn, the David Yarovevsky-directed Elizabeth Banks-starrer that he produced and Sony releases May 24.

I haven't had much of an opportunity to check-in this week, as travel and work have kept me busy. But I have to say that the Alliance conference that I attended Sunday through Wednesday was a great experience.
I had the opportunity to connect with colleagues from other colleges and universities regarding their application and evaluation processes, as well as re-connect with some of my colleagues from Penn State. Additionally, a couple of my co-workers and I gave a presentation on how we developed a self-reported academic record process, and how it integrates into our student information system. All of this while reveling in the sun at the Walt Disney World resort.
We stayed at the Swan & Dolphin Hotel (in the Dolphin), which is walking distance to both the Epcot and Hollywood Studios parks. While we didn't have time to go into the parks during the day, a vendor event allowed us to go to Epcot on Monday night. There we had food and watched "Illuminations: Reflections of Earth" (the big fireworks show at that park). Afterward, we went to ride Test Track. Nice work if you can get it!
While I had a great time, it is nice to be back in Happy Valley where I can get back into a good routine. Plus, my family will be headed out on an actual vacation to Disney World in just a few short weeks!
Perhaps this is completely normal and I have simply never encountered it elsewhere. This is what I think of when I picture a fire hydrant:

The similarity is striking.
Coincidence? J.J. Abrams (the founder of the Bad Robot company) is now working on another Star Wars film (which is now owned by Disney). It's a fire hydrant conspiracy folks!
Disney+ is gathering up a lot of interesting projects including a wave of Marvel Studios produced shows that include Loki, Vision & Scarlet Witch, and a series that would see Bucky and Falcon teaming-up.
Lucasfilm is no different they’ve already lined up two shows for the streaming service with Jon Favreau’s The Mandalorian (recently wrapped) and Diego Luna’s Cassian Andor prequel series is next up. It sounds like they’re not stopping with the two shows we’ve already heard about.
We’ve now got our hands on a list of potential Star Wars shows that could be put into development. The five shows on the list our source provided us includes streaming series focusing on characters such as Princess Leia (young), Captain Phasma, The Knights of Ren, Rose Tico, and the big standout that caught our eye was one for Sith Lord Darth Bane.
To be crystal clear this is very very early days and these are not shows about to go into production these are just ideas they’re considering internally at Lucasfilm/Disney.
So my initial reaction to this article was Cassian is getting his own show?!. I hadn't heard about that.
After the shock of that news wore off, I started to ruminate on the potential with the five ideas mentioned.
Princess Leia. Yes. All of the time. A story about a young Leia growing up on Alderaan would be fantastic.
Captain Phasma. Meh. Okay, I suppose. Phasma didn't impress me in either of the two most recent Star Wars saga entries. I felt as though the character was shallow and only the husk of a female-version-of-Boba-Fett. It's certainly possible that a great origin story could be told that would fill in the blanks - but I think that writer's time would be better spent on some of the other options.
Knights of Ren. See my response to Leia. YES. I'd love to see how Kylo Ren put together the Knights, and what badassery they got into under his tutelage.
Rose Tico. Really? I mean sure, she held a pretty pivotal role in The Last Jedi. And it's clear that there is something going on with her and Finn. I just don't see an entire show devoted to that character. Perhaps I'm alone in feeling this way, but I didn't think that Rose added much to the overall story.
Darth Bane. Interesting. If you're unfamiliar with Bane, check out this quick tutorial. I think that a story about Bane would be great. Given that all we have ever gotten from cannon is that he established the "Rule of Two" (there are only two Sith at any given time, a master and an apprentice), it would be nice to have a little more detailed information in the saga cannon.
All in all I think that Disney+ could do a show for every one of these characters. But, of the five options, the two clear stand-outs for me are Leia and the Knights of Ren. What do you think?

Collider reports that a whole slew of Marvel-related programming will be available on the new Disney Plus (aka Disney+) streaming service. But, the really interesting piece is that the Marvel MCU will still be fully intact for these shows (as opposed to the Marvel properties that have appeared on Netflix):
While Netflix may have just cancelled all of its Marvel TV shows, Marvel is gearing up to launch its most substantial TV endeavors yet. We learned last year that as part of the upcoming Disney streaming service Disney+, Marvel Studios is creating a number of brand new series that may be limited in nature. The only one confirmed thus far is a show centered around the character Loki, starring Tom Hiddleston, but other series reportedly in development are a Vision and Scarlet Witch show starring Elizabeth Olsen and Paul Bettany and a Winter Soldier/Falcon team-up series starring Sebastan Stan and Anthony Mackie.
These shows are shaping up to be a departure from the existing Marvel shows in a big way. For one, they’re going to star the actual movie stars—likely due to the fact that they’re going to be limited series runs, so the actors only have to commit to anywhere from six to 10 episodes at a time. For another, they’ll be run by an entirely different creative team.
Indeed, shows like Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D., Marvel’s Inhumans, and the Netflix series like Daredevil and Luke Cage were overseen by Marvel Television, which is run by Jeph Loeb. That arm of Marvel is separate from Marvel Studios, which is run by Kevin Feige and oversees all the movies. This is why there was little to no crossover between those Marvel shows and the films—the creative teams working on each were literally separate.
But that won’t be the case with the Disney+ shows, which will fall under Marvel Studios’ purview.
One word: SWEET.
So, what shows will we get at Disney+ that feature Marvel characters?
the launch is being used as an opportunity to expand the MCU with a whole host of original content. Marvel Studios is known to be working on a number of six-to-eight-episode-long, big-budget TV shows, intended to rival the very best that's available to Netflix and Amazon Prime subscribers. So far, all the confirmed and rumored Marvel Studios TV shows have been spinoffs from the movies, featuring big-screen stars like Tom Hiddleston and Anthony Mackie. But it's also possible Marvel Studios will use these to introduce entirely new ideas into the MCU; given Kevin Feige's recent comments about Ms. Marvel, for example, a lot of fans are hoping Kamala Khan's story will be adapted into one of these series.

New Warriors was expected to air on Freeform but was pulled last November, after testing performed even better than Marvel had hoped. It's generally believed Disney intends to share the series on their streaming service.
This is fascinating to me because over at Comic Vine, Squirrel Girl is described thusly:
